Carla Acevedo-Yates

Carla Acevedo-Yates ist Kuratorin, Autorin, Forscherin und ehemalige Marilyn and Larry Fields-Kuratorin sowie Leiterin kuratorischer Initiativen im Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Dort verantwortete sie die Hemispheric Initiative, die karibische und lateinamerikanische Perspektiven ins Zentrum rückte und zur Transformation des Museums in eine zweisprachige Institution beitrug. Zu ihren Ausstellungen zählen Dancing the Revolution: From Dancehall to Reggaetón und Forecast Form: Art in the Caribbean Diaspora, 1990s–Today (2023–2024). Als Associate Curator des Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museums an der Michigan State University kuratierte sie Ausstellungen von David Lamelas, Johanna Unzueta, Claudia Peña Salinas und Beatriz Santiago Muñoz sowie Gruppenausstellungen. darunter Michigan Stories: Mike Kelly and Jim Shaw (2017–2018) oder The Edge of Things: Dissident Art Under Repressive Regimes (2019–2020).
