Naomi Beckwith

Naomi Beckwith is the Artistic Director of D16 and the Deputy Director and Jennifer and David Stockman Chief Curator at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Foundation in New York. Previously, she held curatorial positions at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and the Studio Museum in Harlem. A graduate of the Courtauld Institute of Art, Beckwith has organized and co-organized major exhibitions, including Howardena Pindell: What Remains to Be Seen (2018) and The Freedom Principle: Experiments in Art and Music, 1965 to Now (2015) at the MCA Chicago, Grief and Grievance: Art and Mourning in America (2021) conceived by Okwui Enwezor at the New Museum in New York, and ECHO DELAY REVERB: American art, Francophone thought (2025–2026) at Palais de Tokyo in Paris. Her curatorial practice and scholarship explore the influence of Black culture on multidisciplinary practices in global contemporary art.
