Guided exhibition tours

General information
 
documenta 16 has different learning activities. 
Visitors can take their time. 

This means: 

• they can look at the art slowly, 

• they can look at the art more closely 

• and they can learn more about the art. 

There are different ways to do this. 
For example: 

• talking about art together, 

• doing things together 

• or experiencing art with different senses. 

Art can be: 

• pictures, photos, films, sculptures and other works of art. 

The senses are: 

• seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and feeling. 

Accessibility at documenta 

documenta 16 wants everyone to be able to take part. 
There are different inclusive activities. 
There are also different ways to join in. 

Inclusive means: 
People with and without disabilities 
can take part together. 

Accessible guided tours 

documenta 16 has regular guided tours. 

The tours are for people 
who need different kinds of support. 
The tours are led by people who know a lot about art. 
They are trained for this work. 
This means: 
They have learned 
what is important during these tours. 

Regular means: 
Something happens again and again. 

During a guided tour,  
one person shows other people around. 
For example: 
an art exhibition. 

There are guided tours in: 

• German Sign Language, 

• International Sign, 

• and Easy German 

There will be more accessible activities later. 

Sign Language is a language used by many deaf people. 

People use: 

• their hands, 

• their body 

• and their face.
